Haydn became a professional drummer in 1996 after graduating the year before from Drumtech as the ‘Outstanding Student of the Year’. Picking up deps from his instructors he worked in a wide range of fields: cruises for P&O, album and tour for signed band Honeytunnel, blues festivals across Europe with Damien McCabe, cabaret with the likes of The Barron Knights , West End shows, 8 seasons of panto, jazz, big bands, brass bands, orchestras and recording work.

Haydn became an instructor at Drumtech and this was his main gig for eleven years. He taught on the Diploma and Degree courses specialising in sight-reading. During this time he wrote for Rhythm and Drummer magazines.
Haydn left Drumtech in 2009 to work full time for busy corporate function band The Choice whose previous drummers include Gavin Harrison and GigaJam founder Brian Greene.
